At 2.250 metres above sea level, on Alpe Cermis, the refuge The Chalet – Paion del Cermis interprets the Alpine tradition with a contemporary, essential and luminous language.
The project, signed Artistudio for Alpe Cermis cable cars, was born in a context in which architecture and landscape dialogue seamlessly: on one side the strength of the mountain, on the other a dynamic volume that opens to light through large glass surfaces.
The Essepi solution for the Chalet
For the new part of the intervention, Essepi provided a facade system with windows line Garda, a wood/aluminum solution designed to combine essential aesthetics, protection and comfort.
Inside, the natural larch restores warmth and continuity with the light wood environments. Outside, theembossed anthracite gray aluminum it dialogues with the dark finishes of the envelope and guarantees solidity in an exposed context such as the Alpine one.
The result is a window that doesn't impose itself, but rather accompanies the project: less frame, more light, more landscape.
Garda: light, matter and precision
The Garda It stands out for its coplanar design, essential lines and the ability to enhance large openings without weighing down the architectural composition.
At the Lo Chalet refuge, the window becomes a subtle threshold between inside and outside: it protects, defines, frames. But above all, it lets in what makes this place unique: the view, the snow, the forest, the silhouette of the peaks.
A project at high altitude, a challenge of detail
Carrying out an intervention at this altitude also means dealing with logistics, weather and installation precision. For this reason, Essepi's supply also included the false frames, to support coordinated and accurate management of the construction site.
A project in which technology and architecture find a natural balance, transforming construction details into quality space.
