In compliance with the UNI EN 14351-1 standard, Essepi recently performed wind load resistance tests on a single-leaf larch wood window, measuring 1100x2100 mm, at the request of a strategic client who required full performance certification without an NPD declaration in the DoP.
To meet this need, we created two larger samples—one in larch and one in spruce—tested in an accredited laboratory. Both achieved the highest regulatory standards:
- Class 4 for air permeability
- Class 5 for wind load resistance
The comparative analysis highlighted a better performance of softwood (spruce) compared to semi-hardwood (larch), in terms of air tightness, thanks to its greater elasticity and lower deformability.
These results not only confirm the high technical quality of Essepi windows and doors, but also underscore our ability to develop certified, custom solutions, even for projects with specific dimensions.
